Farmworker Legal Services of New York, Inc. (FLSNY) is a not-for-profit corporation providing free legal services and legal education to New York's agricultural workers. FLSNY's lawyers and paralegals provide a wide range of legal advocacy on behalf of farm workers.  FLSNY seeks to assure that agricultural employers and housing providers in New York and nationwide comply with the law, that government entities respect farm workers' civil rights, and that the public is educated about farm worker rights under existing laws and the exclusions from existing labor laws that protect other types of workers

FLSNY received donations from the family and friends of Barbara Kasper.  Barbara took a sabbatical from her teaching position at SUNY Brockport to do a research study on farm worker women.  She saw the immense need of farm worker women for baby items, including cribs, high chairs, baby clothes, and toys.  She then put out an email to her friends and families and they responded enthusiastically!  FLSNY received the donations and distributed them to the women who needed them most.

The portable cribs were most helpful because of the migrant nature of these hardworking farm workers.  We continue to receive gently-used baby items and place them as we get them.  Call our office at 585-325-3050 if you would like to donate these items.

FLSNY is in need of a digital camera.  Often during our outreach trips we come across living conditions that are intolerable.  Taking pictures of the living and working environment is extremely helpful.  If you have a digital camera that you would like to donate, please call our office at 585-325-3050 or drop me an email at pbillyard@wnylc.com .
