FLSNY welcomes Attorney Molly Graver. Molly comes to FLSNY from Oregon where she worked for Legal Aid Services of Oregon Farmworker Program. At Legal Aid she represented farm workers in civil cases addressing employment, housing, civil rights, health, safety, and pesticide exposure claims. Molly graduated from the City University of New York School of Law in 2001, where she was a Haywood Burns Human Rights Fellow, a Belle Zeller Scholar, and an Ella Baker Fellow intern at the Center for Constitutional Rights |

Molly also has a Master’s Degree in Theological Studies/Justice and Peace Studies from the Maryknoll School of Theology and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religion magna cum laude from Davidson College in North Carolina. She has worked in solidarity with marginalized peoples for over 15 years. Her experience includes working with a women’s grassroots collective in rural El Salvador, the Las Americas Refugee Asylum Project on the US/Mexico border, and a humanitarian organization at the United Nations.

Farmworker Legal Services of NY, Inc. joins the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), Montgomery, Ala., to showcase an exhibit featuring decorated bandanas that symbolize the need to end the sexual harassment and abuse of farm worker women in the U.S. As part of SPLC’s “Bandana Project,” community groups, universities and other organizations across the country have adopted this symbol because farm worker women use bandanas on the job to cover their faces and |

bodies in an attempt to ward off unwanted sexual attention that often leads to rape. Farmworker women use their clothes, including bandanas, as weapons in the fields to protect themselves from sexual violence in the workplace.
